About Steve Francis
Steve Francis is a leading educator, author, coach and speaker who after 18 years of successful principalship with Education Queensland, ventured with his family to Hong Kong as Principal of an international school for four great years.
He has returned to Queensland with the intention of supporting school leaders to reach their potential, written a book, 'A Gr8 Life...Live it now!' and developed the Gr8 People Educational Resources.
Steve is an accredited trainer and presenter of Life Styles Inventory developed by Human Synergistics International with research conducted by Robert A. Cooke, PhD and J. Clayton Lafferty, PhD.
In 2011, he will present Establishing a Feedback Culture:
High quality learning depends on high quality teaching. Aside from what students themselves bring to school, teachers and teaching account for the greatest level of variance of any other factor operating in a school. ( Hattie, 2003)
School audits have highlighted the need for many schools to establish better processes for providing feedback to teachers. This is seen as a vital aspect of improved performance in schools. However giving teacher's feedback is not part of the culture in most schools. Changing that culture will inevitably lead to anxiety, barriers and resistance.
In this one day workshop, Steve will help you develop strategies and an effective feedback process that will become part of your school's culture.
In this workshop, you will:

identify barriers to teacher feedback

design strategies and processes for overcoming likely barriers

examine options for feedback processes that focus on teaching and classroom practice in non-threathening ways

develop a successful process of structured feedback

prepared a phased in implementation plan to suit your situation

address one of the audit recommendations in most schools
