About Steve Francis
Steve Francis is a leading educator, author, coach and speaker who after 18 years of successful principalship with Education Queensland, ventured with his family to Hong Kong as Principal of an international school for four great years. He has returned to Queensland with the intention of supporting school leaders to reach their potential, written a book, 'A Gr8 Life...Live it now!' and developed the Gr8 People Educational Resources. Steve is an accredited trainer and presenter of Life Styles Inventory developed by Human Synergistics International with research conducted by Robert A. Cooke, PhD and J. Clayton Lafferty, PhD. Understanding and Enhancing YOUR Leadership Style There are 12 thinking 'styles' or behaviours we use as leaders - some are more effective than others. What are your thinking styles? Are you more people or task orientated? Are you focused on higher order Satisfaction needs or lower order Security needs? Which styles are aggressive / defensive? Is YOUR style what you want it to be? Life Styles Inventory (LSI) is a self- assessment tool from Human Synergistics. The instrument helps you understand your thinking and behaviour. It helps you identify your personal strengths and areas for development. The assessment tool reflects current levels of effectiveness, based on the 12 specific patterns or 'styles' of thinking, behaving and interacting. The levels of each of the Constructive and Defensive styles are presented in a circumplex. Experienced Queensland Principal, Steve Francis, will help you to understand and enhance YOUR leadership style. Through the workshop you will develop your understanding of the thinking styles and how they impact on your effectiveness as a leader, complete the LSI1 self assessment and develop a personal action plan for enhancing your leadership style. Strategies are identified for increasing desirable traits and reducing styles that are less effective. After focusing on self-awareness in this workshop the option of 360 feedback, using the same tool, is offered. 360 feedback through LSI2 is undertaken in a one-on-one personalised format.
