QASSP Subcommittees

QASSP has set up a number of Subcommittees to provide information, support and feedback on current issues of consultation with DET, on endorsed actions and  motions from State Council and in gathering data to support the State President with respect to emergent issues.

The speed of consultations, the suddenness of political decision making and the breadth of issues facing the Association, members of Management Committee and the State President requires a more agile, diverse and focussed system of data gathering to ensure our actions and responses are fully informed, current and representative of the range of schools within QASSP. To remain the peak professional body for our members we need to demonstrate and communicate the results and content of our representations.

Two (2) Chairs, ten (13) Regional Representatives, one (1) Outdoor Education Representative and one (1) Indigenous Education Alliance Representative make up each Subcommittee.  The Chairs were chosen on their experience, credibility and location enabling the establishment and regular maintenance of relationships with the major policy makers in Central Office. The Regional Representatives were identified by Branch Presidents on their experience, credibility and valued perspective in the portfolios assigned.

Recommendations for Subcommittee Regional Representatives and Subcommittee Chairs are to be made to the State President of QASSP for consideration. The State President may also seek advice from the Management Committee of QASSP on these recommendations, should this be deemed necessary.
